This Participant Waiver and Release ("Waiver") is an agreement between you ("you", the participant) and Mohnish Doultani (sole proprietor), trading as Wrong Trip ("Wrong Trip", "we", "us"), for Wrong Trip 1.0: Bali from 21 to 28 March 2027 and any optional add-on such as the Gili T extension (together, "the trip"). It sits alongside our Terms & Conditions, Cancellation & Refund Policy and Privacy Policy, which also apply to your booking. If anything here conflicts with those documents, the document that gives you more protection under Indian law applies.

Signing this Waiver is a condition of joining the trip. Please read it carefully. If you don't understand something, ask us before you sign.

1. The trip and its risks

The trip is an active group holiday in Bali, Indonesia. It includes, among other things: strength and conditioning classes, Hyrox and functional fitness sessions, pilates, breathwork, handstand and mobility work, running on roads, trails and beaches, surfing, padel, beach games such as tug of war and relay races, sauna, ice baths and contrast therapy, sound baths, swimming in pools and the sea, a waterfall visit, nights out at bars and beach clubs, and travel by road and, for the Gili T extension, by fast boat.

I understand that these activities carry inherent risks that can't be fully removed, even with reasonable care. These include, for example: muscle strains, sprains, fractures and other injuries; overexertion, dehydration, heat exhaustion and sunburn; cold shock, dizziness or fainting during ice baths and saunas; drowning or injury in water, waves, currents and on reefs or rocks; slips and falls on wet, uneven or natural surfaces, including at waterfalls; road traffic accidents; insect bites, stomach illness and other illnesses; and the effects of alcohol. In rare cases, risks like these can lead to serious injury, permanent disability or death.

2. Taking part is voluntary

Every session and activity is optional. I can skip any activity, stop at any time or go at my own intensity, and I'll follow the safety instructions of the coaches, instructors, guides, lifeguards and hosts. I'll tell a host or coach straight away if I feel unwell, dizzy, injured or unsafe. I accept that Wrong Trip may stop me from taking part in an activity if they reasonably believe it's unsafe for me or others.

3. Health and fitness declaration

I confirm that I'm at least 18 years old, in good health and physically able to take part in the activities I choose. I've told Wrong Trip, in writing below or before the trip, about any medical condition, injury, surgery, pregnancy, heart or breathing condition, allergy, medication or anything else that could affect my safety. If I'm unsure whether an activity is safe for me, I'll check with a doctor before the trip. I'll tell Wrong Trip promptly if my health changes before or during the trip.

I understand that Wrong Trip's hosts are not medical professionals and that any guidance they give is general, not medical advice. Dr. Akshitha Singh joins the trip as a host, not as anyone's treating doctor.

4. Travel insurance is mandatory

I'll buy travel insurance that covers the full trip dates and includes medical treatment, hospitalisation, emergency evacuation and repatriation, and the activities in the itinerary. I'll send Wrong Trip my policy details before the trip. I understand that Wrong Trip may refuse to let me join the trip, without a refund, if I don't have valid insurance, and that any medical, hospital, evacuation or repatriation costs are my responsibility or my insurer's, not Wrong Trip's. Wrong Trip can help me find a suitable policy, but the choice of policy and its terms are my responsibility.

5. Emergencies and medical treatment

If I'm injured or fall ill and can't make decisions for myself, I authorise Wrong Trip's hosts to arrange first aid, transport and medical treatment for me, and to contact my emergency contact and my insurer. I understand this is done in good faith to help me, and that I'm responsible for the costs of any treatment and transport.

6. Release and assumption of risk

To the fullest extent allowed by Indian law, I accept the inherent risks described in section 1, and I release Wrong Trip, its hosts and team from claims for loss, injury, illness, damage or death that arise from those inherent risks, from my own actions, choices or health conditions, from my failure to follow instructions or disclose information, or from events beyond Wrong Trip's reasonable control.

This release does not cover loss or injury caused by Wrong Trip's own gross negligence, wilful misconduct or deficiency in service, or any liability that can't be excluded under Indian law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Where Wrong Trip is liable, its total liability to me is limited as set out in the Terms & Conditions.

7. Third-party suppliers

Wrong Trip plans and hosts the trip but doesn't own or run the villas, gyms, fitness resorts, beach clubs, bars, surf schools, padel courts, boats, vehicles or other venues used on the trip. These independent suppliers are responsible for their own services, staff, equipment and premises, and they may ask me to sign their own waivers or follow their own rules, which I'll do. Wrong Trip chooses suppliers with reasonable care but isn't liable for their acts or omissions beyond its reasonable control.

8. Changes to the trip

I understand the itinerary is a plan and may change because of weather, sea and surf conditions, safety, traffic, venue availability, local rules, ceremonies or holidays, or other operational reasons. Wrong Trip may change, reschedule, shorten or replace activities, venues, villas, rooms and timings, and will replace significant changes with something of similar value where reasonably possible. Activities I choose to skip or miss aren't refundable. Free time and optional extras, such as massages, are at my own cost and my own choice.

9. Payments, cancellations and refunds

I've read and accept the Cancellation & Refund Policy. In particular: the ₹40,000 booking amount is non-refundable in every case except where Wrong Trip cancels the trip; the balance is due by 19 February 2027; refunds after I cancel depend on how close to the trip I cancel; I can transfer my spot to a friend for free up to 15 days before the trip; if fewer than 8 guests book, Wrong Trip may cancel and I can choose a refund of my booking amount or credit for another Wrong Trip; flights, visas and other bookings I make myself aren't refundable by Wrong Trip; and if I'm removed from the trip under section 10, I won't get a refund.

10. Conduct, alcohol and the law

I'll respect the other guests, hosts, suppliers, villas, venues and local people, laws and customs. I won't possess or use illegal drugs; I understand Indonesia has zero tolerance for drugs, with penalties that can include long prison sentences and death. If I drink alcohol, I do so responsibly and at my own risk, and I won't take part in sport, swimming or water activities while drunk. I'm responsible for my own belongings and valuables, and for any damage I cause to villas, venues or property. Wrong Trip may remove me from an activity or from the trip, without a refund, if my behaviour puts me or others at risk, breaks the law or seriously disrupts the group; any extra costs of my removal are mine.

11. Rooms

I'll share a room with one other guest, paired by gender unless I'm travelling as a couple or with a friend and ask to share. I understand villa rooms mostly have one king or queen bed, so I may share a bed with my roommate; Wrong Trip will try to arrange separate beds where available but can't guarantee it. Single rooms, upgrades and downgrades aren't available.

12. Photos, videos and content

A professional videographer and the hosts will film and photograph the trip. I agree that Wrong Trip may use photos and videos that include me in Wrong Trip content and marketing, on any platform, without payment. If I'd rather not appear, I'll tell Wrong Trip in writing before the trip and they'll keep me out of published content.

13. Responsibility for my actions

I'll be responsible for, and will compensate Wrong Trip for, reasonable losses, costs or claims (including claims by other guests or suppliers) caused by my breach of this Waiver, my unlawful or reckless behaviour, or damage I cause, except where Wrong Trip itself caused them.

14. General

This Waiver is governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Mumbai have exclusive jurisdiction. If any part of it is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. I agree to sign this Waiver electronically: my typed name and the confirmation tick below, together with the date and time recorded when I submit, are my signature and are intended to be legally binding, in line with the Information Technology Act, 2000. Wrong Trip will store my answers as described in the Privacy Policy. I can ask for a copy at any time.
